Welcome to the home of Hickory Ridge Lodge on the Web. We hope to provide you with detailed information about our facilities, the services we provide, and the area around our lodge. Our HistoryUnknown to us, Hurricane Opal in 1995 started the building of Hickory Ridge Lodge. After the storm, our timber started dying. Our original plan was to build a cabin without electricity. As more timber died, the plans got bigger, until we wound up with a beautiful 4000 sq ft lodge, complete with electricity. The dead and dieing trees were cut down and sawed into lumber. We used this old growth pine to build Hickory Ridge Lodge. The lodge was completed in April 2002. During the construction of Hickory Ridge we used antique building material - Support Beams from 1850 to 1900, doors from 1850 to 1910, windows from 1880 to 1903, stair banisters from 1903, antique stained glass and antique tubs and sinks. The walls are decorated with antique war posters, group pictures, advertisements, deer heads, tools, clocks, and letters. The lodge is furnished with antique furniture dating from the 1800's and furniture that we made. The first event held at hickory Ridge was the wedding of our son Dallas Patton Gantt to Anna Maria Hill. Since then many wonderful events and overnight stays have been held.
